About Us

The journey of creating Botanic Hair Care started in 2014, when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. This diagnosis changed my perspective on self care and how critical it is to consider what you put on and in your body which inspired my journey to founding Botanic Hair Care. Before my diagnosis, I thought “taking care of myself” started and stopped with my diet and routines, but I soon realized that “care” extended to the products I used, the environment I interacted with, and even the mental mindset I held at the time.

My first step was replacing the products I used with clean products from brands that cared about the ingredients they used and how they would affect me and my overall health as a consumer, but in 2015 clean products were incredibly hard to find. I was left with a swarm of home remedies to navigate and while they can be effective, they also require you to try recipe after recipe in order to find a remedy that meets your specific needs. I realized then that nobody should have to struggle this much to find solutions and most importantly that finding quality products for curly hair types shouldn’t be such a struggle, so I decided to make my own.

I began my research in 2015 and while I only had a vague idea of how I’d reach my goal, I knew that anything I created had to be made with CARE. After moving to the US in 2019, I embraced the land of opportunity and even with my challenges as an immigrant in a new country, within three years, I launched Botanic Hair Care’s first collection of products.

Today, my goal continues to be the same as what started my journey, creating products that put the CARE back in hair care. I hope that Botanic Hair Care can reach people like me, who may be struggling to find solutions and care about what goes on their bodies while still effortlessly caring for their hair.
